Dr. Randy Olson will present a workshop on the ABT Narrative Template, a tool for organizing content to tell a story! Olson is a writer and director of award-winning, and often humorous, documentary films. He is the founder and director of the Story Circles Narrative Training, a program attended by over one thousand scientists from universities and government agencies. McGovern Medical School’s Women Faculty Forum (WFF) would like to invite you to the 2nd annual International Day of Women and Girls in Science Symposium on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. The symposium celebrating this day will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Memorial Hermann Conference Center and will provide an opportunity for our faculty, academic leaders, and trainees to hear from successful women in academia. The symposium is hosting Dr. Sharona Gordon, a Professor of Physiology & Biophysics at the University of Washington and the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Education at the University of Washington School of Medicine, as the keynote speaker with her talk entitled “If I’m not safe, no body is: science, power, and activism in the age of hashtag #MeToo”. The symposium will also highlight accomplished medical school faculty, including Rebecca Berdeaux, Ph.D., Vasanthi Jayaraman, Ph.D., Lillian S. Kao, M.D. and Hope Northrup, M.D. If you are unfamiliar with the venue, there will be a group meetup in the McGovern Medical School Leather Lounge on the 1st floor at 3:45 pm to direct you to the conference center.
